MASON, Ohio — Vanderbilt women's tennis will kick off the opening day of main draw play at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships on Friday morning from the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.
Freshman Julie Jirakova suffered singles defeats on Thursday in the qualifying bracket, leaving six Commodores remaining for the singles main draw. Sophomore Erin Pearce and junior Trinetra Vijayakumar open the action tomorrow with singles matches starting at 8 a.m. CT (9 a.m. ET). Freshman Nicole Weng and junior Sophia Webster are set for a 9:30 a.m. CT (10:30 a.m. ET) start time, followed by sophomore Mia Yamakita at 10 a.m. CT (11 a.m. ET). Senior Valeria Ray, the No. 1 overall seed in the singles main draw, rounds out the Dores at 11 a.m. CT (noon ET).
Doubles play is set to begin at 1 p.m. CT (2 p.m. ET) with the duo of Jirakova and Vijayakumar. Pearce and Yamakita, coming off a pro title win at the World Tennis W15 Nashville event, look to stay rolling at 2 p.m. CT (3 p.m. ET). Ray, playing alongside Webster, also received the No. 1 seed in the doubles main draw and earned a first-round bye.
