COLUMBIA, Mo. – No. 3/1 Vanderbilt soccer kept its fourth shutout in five matches on Friday evening, shutting out Missouri and riding a Mia Hebert goal to a 1-0 victory.
The Commodores (12-0-1, 5-0-1 SEC) move to the top of the SEC table for the first time this season after winning five consecutive matches. Only two points separate the top three of Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Alabama; the Dores will play both teams, along with Florida and Texas, to conclude the regular season.
The lone goal of the match came from the lethal left foot of Hebert, rewarding a strong start from the visitors. The freshman now has four goals and two assists, all in conference play.
The Tigers (3-8-2, 0-5-1 SEC) grew into the game, forcing Alexa Gianoplus into a season-high six saves. The Commodore keeper now has a goals-against average of 0.54, a figure that would rank fifth best in program history, just behind Sara Wojdelko’s 2025 season (0.50).
Vanderbilt will return home to host Florida on Thursday night. The match will kick at 6 p.m., and tickets will be just $1 for one match only.
