NASHVILLE, Tenn. — After performing at festivals across the country, country-rock stars American Mile will be the featured performer Saturday in Vandyville prior to Vanderbilt football’s second contest of the season.
With sounds ranging from Aerosmith, The Black Crowes, Brothers Osborne and Chris Stapleton, the band has released a pair of albums highlighting its pursuit to showcase vocal harmonies in a modern way. The group has been featured at festivals in California, Arizona, Nevada and Wisconsin while playing approximately 200 shows a year across the country.
The free concert will get underway in Commodore Court at 1:15 p.m., part of a three-hour tailgating experience for Vandy fans of all ages before the Dores take on Delaware at 3:15 p.m. at FirstBank Stadium.
Vandyville activations including food, beverage, the Max Nance Kids’ Zone and vendors will open at 12:15 p.m. throughout Vanderbilt Place, Dudley Court and Jess Neely Drive. Food trucks will be on site from local favorites Hattie B’s, Daddy’s Dogs, Ice Crown and more, with the kids’ zone featuring both inflatable and lawn games among a variety of activities for children of all ages. Saturday will offer an exclusive Homefield Apparel activation with the Vanderbilt Bookstore as well.
And, Star Walk—the Commodores’ walk through Vandyville on the way to the stadium—will take place at 12:40 p.m., providing Vandy fans yet another interactive photo opportunity to commemorate the day.
With expected high temperatures, Vanderbilt fans are encouraged to stay hydrated, wear a hat and sunscreen, and take all proper steps in order to beat the heat before cheering on the Commodores against the Fighting Blue Hens.
