Commodores begin fall training Tuesday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — As Major League Baseball heads into the postseason, the Vanderbilt program is getting underway with fall training.

Five alumni are on postseason rosters with their respective MLB clubs as the Wild Card games begin Tuesday.

Spencer Jones, New York Yankees
Dansby Swanson, Chicago Cubs
Walker Buehler, San Diego Padres
Sonny Gray, Boston Red Sox
Mike Yastrzemski, Atlanta Braves

Here in Nashville, the Commodores begin fall training on Tuesday as well. Vanderbilt will compete in four exhibitions over the next several weeks beginning with a game against Walters State at Hawkins Field on Oct. 18. Vanderbilt's full fall exhibition schedule can be found here.

Here is this week’s schedule of training sessions open to the public at Hawkins Field. All times are subject to change.

Tuesday: ~2:30 p.m. // 5 p.m. Scrimmage
Wednesday: ~3:30 p.m.
Thursday: ~2:30 p.m.
Friday: ~3 p.m.  // 4 p.m. Scrimmage
Saturday: ~11:30 a.m. // 1:05 p.m. Scrimmage
Sunday: ~11:30 a.m.
