NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The new right field facility at Vanderbilt’s Hawkins Field is on track to open in February for the 2027 baseball season, expanding capacity and introducing an enhanced game-day experience for Commodore Nation.
The 50,000-square-foot facility will usher in a new era at Hawkins Field, providing new first-class spaces for the Vanderbilt baseball program. The project prioritizes student-athlete and fan experiences while preserving the intimate atmosphere that has made “The Hawk” one of college baseball’s most recognizable venues.
“We look forward to a new baseball season ringing in a much-anticipated new day for Hawkins Field,” said Candice Storey Lee, vice chancellor for athletics and university affairs and athletic director. “Tim Corbin’s VandyBoys made Hawkins Field synonymous with excellence, the embodiment of Vanderbilt’s competitive ambition and a place where our community comes together. They made it the blueprint for Vandy United, and so it’s only fitting that Vandy United now return the favor with this amazing right field facility and the home our student-athletes and supporters deserve.”
