OXFORD, Miss. – No. 3/1 Vanderbilt easily handled Ole Miss on Thursday evening, tallying another four goals in a 4-0 victory in Oxford.
The Commodores (9-0-1, 2-0-1 SEC) now have 38 goals, the most in program history through 10 matches. They have scored four or more goals in seven of 10 matches and rank third in the country in goals per match.
It was none other than Sydney Watts to break the deadlock in the 22nd minute, with Courtney Jones and Megan Hinnenkamp earning assists. Watts now stands alone in second place all-time with 35 goals in a Vanderbilt uniform and is one of six players to reach double digit goals this season.
Eight minutes later, substitute Mia Hebert put her name on the scoresheet for the second match in a row. The freshman added a second goal after halftime for her first career brace after missing the first seven matches of 2025 due to injury.
Olivia Stafford headed home a corner kick from Melania Fullerton in the second half, her third goal of the season. The Dores outshot Ole Miss, 16-7, but goalkeeper Alexa Gianoplus had to make three smart saves to help secure a second consecutive clean sheet for the Vandy defense.
It’s on to the next for the undefeated Dores, who set their sights on a Sunday morning kick at No. 9/6 Tennessee. The match will kick at 11 a.m. CT on ESPNU.
