TULSA, Okla. — Vanderbilt's time in Tulsa came to a close on Friday after falling in the doubles consolation quarterfinals at the ITA All-American Championships.
The No. 30 ranked pairing of junior Pablo Martinez Gomez and sophomore Hoyoung Roh advanced by walkover on Thursday for their spot in the quarterfinal round. The Dores then faced Clemson's Matisse Farzam and Tiago Pires with an NCAA qualifying bid still up for grabs.
The Commodores moved ahead early after a 6-2 first set. Despite the black and gold holding a lead late in the next frame, Clemson responded, ultimately evening the match by way of a 7-6 (3) second set. Vanderbilt had no answer in the third-set tiebreaker, falling 10-4.
