NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Five Commodores are set to compete tomorrow as Vanderbilt women's tennis returns to the court and opens the 2026 fall season at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina.
All-Americans serves a qualifying tournament for the NCAA Division I Individual Championships in November. 10 singles players from the All-American Championships will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship, consisting of eight main draw quarterfinalists and two feed-in consolation finalists, while four doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship.
Freshman Nicole Weng eyes her first action in black and gold tomorrow, starting in singles prequalifying. She will be joined by sophomores Erin Pearce and Mia Yamakita and junior Sophia Webster. Both Weng and Pearce are slated to compete together in doubles as well, also beginning in the prequalifying draw.
Webster will partner with senior Valeria Ray as the No. 29 ranked doubles duo; the pair will open play in the main draw starting on Wednesday. Ray is also set to compete in the singles main draw, coming into Cary ranked No. 14 in singles. The finals for both singles and doubles take place on Sept. 27.
