NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt cross country will host their season opener meet Opener at Percy Warner Park on Tuesday.
Participating schools include Alabama A&M, Belmont, Lipscomb and Tennessee State.
Last year, the women finished first while the men notched fourth place. Of the women who finished in the top five last year, Hannah Huyler returns after finishing second overall with a time of 18:13.98. Myrto Valacha will also be running for the Commodores again this season after finishing fourth with a time of 18:14.38.
On the men’s side, four returning Commodores placed in the top five at the Belmont Opener last year, including Jackson Scruggs, who finished 24th overall with a time of 16:07.87. Sam Darmanie, Tommy O’Brien, and Finn Richards earned 25, 26th, and 27th place finishes at last year’s opener.
The women’s race is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m., and the men are set to start at 8:45 a.m. Live results are available online, while course Information can be found here.
