NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt volleyball junior setter Avery Scoggins was named the Southeastern Conference Setter of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Scoggins helped lead the Commodores to a pair of three-set victories to open the 2026 season, leading the charge for the team’s 51 kills against Charleston, the program’s record for kills in a three-set match.
The New Bern, North Carolina, native recorded 36 assists in each match, averaging 12 assists per set while guiding Vanderbilt to a .397 hitting percentage across the weekend. Scoggins also contributed 10 digs, seven blocks and one service ace over the two matches.
Against College of Charleston on Aug. 28, Scoggins recorded 36 assists, five digs, one ace and one block while helping Vanderbilt post 51 kills, setting a program record for kills in a three-set match.
Scoggins followed with her second 36-assist performance against Memphis on Aug. 29, adding five digs and a career-high six blocks.
The SEC Setter of the Week honor marks Scoggins' first weekly honor within the conference.
Scoggins and the Commodores will continue their homestand Tuesday and Wednesday against Maryland and Rutgers at 7 p.m. both days.
