First of concert series announced for football season opener

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Before kicking off football’s season opener against Austin Peay on Saturday, the program announced that American Authors will headline a free pregame concert in Commodore Court as part of the reimagined Vandyville which will open at 3 p.m.

Commodore Court, which will take place in Zone 13, will host musical artists before each home game this season, with music starting approximately two hours before kickoff. In addition to a concert, the Max Nance Kids’ Zone will take place in the Blakemore House parking lot; there will be food and beverages available for sale in addition to different merchandise options.

American Authors will take the stage at approximately 4 p.m. and conclude around 5 p.m., when fans are encouraged to enter the stadium. The Brooklyn-based alternative rock band is best known for their breakout hit “Best Day of My Life,” which has amassed billions of streams. Known for their high-energy live performances, American Authors have continued to build a loyal following with hits including “Go Big or Go Home,” “Believer” and “I’m Born To Run.” The band brings its signature blend of rock, pop and folk-inspired sounds to Nashville this weekend.

The Commodores kick off the regular season hosting Austin Peay on Saturday at 6 p.m. Early arriving fans will receive the first-of-its-kind head coach Clark Lea bobblehead.
