BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference announced its 2027 women’s basketball schedule on Tuesday, as Vanderbilt opens the 16-game conference slate with a New Year’s Eve matchup against Arkansas at Memorial Gymnasium.
This season’s SEC schedule features nine contests against NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago, three of which will be played at Memorial Gymnasium. Vandy opens the conference portion of its schedule against Arkansas for the second-straight season.

League play begins on Dec.31 vs. Arkansas at Memorial Gym and runs through Feb. 28, when the Commodores travel to Florida. As announced in June, the Commodores will have eight home SEC matchups against Arkansas (Jan. 31), Mississippi State (Jan. 10), Texas A&M (Jan. 14), Georgia (Jan. 24), South Carolina (Feb. 4), Tennessee (Feb. 7), Ole Miss (Feb. 21) and Missouri (Feb. 25).
The 2027 SEC women’s basketball schedule consists of a single round-robin of home or away contests, with one rotating home-and-home series against Missouri. This marks the 18th season that the league will play a 16-game schedule for women’s basketball.
After the SEC opener against the Razorbacks on New Year’s Eve, the Dores hit the road for back-to-back games against LSU (Jan. 3) and Auburn (Jan. 7). Vanderbilt returns to Memorial Gym for a pair of home contests against Mississippi State (Jan. 10) and Texas A&M (Jan. 14), before heading to Texas (Jan. 17) and Missouri (Jan. 21). Vandy then welcomes in Georgia (Jan. 24) before closing out January with a second trip out to the Midwest for a date with Oklahoma (Jan. 28).
The Commodores play four of their seven February games at home. Vanderbilt opens the final month of the regular season with two consecutive home games against South Carolina (Feb. 4) and Tennessee (Feb. 7). After a pair of brief road trips to Alabama (Feb. 11) and Kentucky (Feb. 15), Vandy closes out its SEC home slate with a pair of contests against Ole Miss (Feb. 21) and Missouri (Feb. 25). The Dores end the 2026-27 season in Gainesville, Florida, on Feb. 28 to take on the Gators.
The SEC Tournament returns March 3-7 at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.
The Dores enter Season 6 under the direction of head coach Shea Ralph. Vanderbilt returns seven players from last season’s Sweet 16 team, which include All-American and current SEC Player of the Year Mikayla Blakes and the reigning SEC Freshman of the Year Aubrey Galvan. Additionally, the Dores brought in a pair of high-level NCAA Division I transfers, while Ralph inked the highest-rated freshman class during her time at Vanderbilt. This year’s trio of freshmen were ranked No. 11 by ESPN and No. 16 by 24/7 Sports.
Vandy’s mix of veteran experience and talented newcomers has the Commodores checked in at No. 11 in ESPN’s Way-Too-Early Top 25 rankings.
The Dores have earned a bid into March Madness each of the last three seasons, a first since the program earned 15-straight bids from 1999-2014. Ralph comes into her sixth season with the Commodores sporting a 102-64 (.614) overall record. Vanderbilt is 74-26 (.740) over the last three seasons, which include 30 victories against SEC teams.
