NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt volleyball is headed to New York City this fall for Anchor Down in Midtown presented by SRM Concrete, a marquee event that will bring the Commodores to Manhattan to host North Carolina on Sept. 13 in a Vanderbilt home match at Hammerstein Ballroom at Manhattan Center. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT.

Anchor Down in Midtown also coincides with the opening of Vanderbilt's New York City campus, creating opportunities for the volleyball program to engage with students, alumni and supporters while extending the university's presence in one of the world's most influential cities.

The match will provide a unique opportunity for Vanderbilt Athletics to connect with the university's New York City community while showcasing the volleyball program on a national stage. Throughout the weekend, the Commodores will participate in events designed to engage students, alumni, supporters and university partners across the city.

"We're thrilled to host another marquee match as our department continues to invest in the future of Vanderbilt Volleyball," head coach Anders Nelson said. "It's especially meaningful to collaborate with our friends at Vanderbilt's New York City satellite campus as they open their doors for the first time. Playing a terrific opponent in an iconic venue in the heart of Manhattan will create lifelong memories for everyone involved."

Located in Midtown Manhattan, Hammerstein Ballroom will provide a distinctive backdrop for one of Vanderbilt's premier nonconference matches of the season. Following the success of last season's Match 1 event, Anchor Down in Midtown represents another unique opportunity for Vanderbilt volleyball to compete on a prominent stage while engaging the university's growing presence in New York City.

In addition to the match, Vanderbilt's New York City visit is expected to include engagement opportunities with the university's New York City campus community and alumni network. Plans for the weekend also include fan-focused events surrounding match day, creating a Vanderbilt experience that extends beyond competition on the court.
