SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Vanderbilt women’s basketball team will take on Iowa in a neutral-site contest at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa, this upcoming season, as the Commodores and Hawkeyes are set to battle on Nov. 15.

Vanderbilt and Iowa will meet for the first time in over 28 years, and the fifth matchup overall. The Commodores are a perfect 4-0 against the Hawkeyes. The last contest between the two came during the 1997-98 season at the 1997 Honda Elite Four Classic in Lakeland, Florida, where the Dores posted a 60-54 victory on Dec. 21. Vandy and Iowa matched up in the NCAA Tournament in 1990 and 1996, with the Dores coming away victorious both times.
Vandy is coming off a 2025-26 campaign that saw the Commodores reach their first Sweet 16 in 17 seasons. Vandy went 29-5 overall and 13-3 in SEC play a season ago. Head coach Shea Ralph was the consensus national coach of the year, while Mikayla Blakes was a consensus first-team All-American. Additionally, Ralph was named SEC Coach of the Year, with Blakes earning SEC Player of the Year and Aubrey Galvan was voted SEC Freshman of the Year.
