LEXINGTON, Ky. — Vanderbilt Track and Field athletes Elizabeth Bailey and Lena Gooden punched their tickets to the NCAA Outdoor Championships while six athletes advance to the quarterfinal rounds at the UK Outdoor Track and Field Facility.

Bailey kicks off the day with her javelin throw of 53.27 meters to finish fifth at the regional, resetting her school record and marking her best throw as a Commodore. On the track, duo Falon Spearman (12.92) and Santana Spearman (13.20) both qualify for the quarterfinals in the 100-meter hurdles. In the sand pit, Gooden earned her ticket with a long jump mark of 6.39 meters while Marta Sivina finished with a jump of 5.76 meters. To close out the field events, Sarah Marvin competed in the shot put, posting a season-best 15.80 meter mark.

In the 400 meter, Josie Donelson and Faith Franklin both will compete in their quarterfinals on Saturday, both finishing with personal bests. Franklin moved up to the second-fastest in program history with a time of 51.40 seconds while Donelson moves up to third-fastest at 52.24 seconds.

Jayden Hill advances to Saturday’s 800 meter race, finishing in 2:03.88. Kelty Oaster also competed, finishing with a time of 2:13.36. To close out the evening, Falon Spearman earns her second qualification of the day with a time of 55.37 seconds in the 400 meter hurdles, advancing to the number two spot in the program record books. Madyson Wilson will compete alongside Spearman, as she finished in 56.42 seconds. Mya Georgiadis also represented the Dores in the race, finishing in 58.46 seconds.

The quarterfinals will take place on Saturday afternoon at the UK Outdoor Track and Field, kicking off with high jump beginning at 1 p.m. CT.
