“We are thrilled and excited to have Leo joining us and wearing the black and gold next fall,” head coach Scott Brown said. “He brings the level of professionalism, work ethic and character that our culture is about.”
Ljubicic joins the Dores out of Monaco, where he is a member of the country’s Davis Cup team. He is the son of ATP great Ivan Ljubicic, who reached a No. 3 world ranking in 2006 and brought home 10 singles titles across his 14-year professional career, as well as a doubles bronze medal in the 2004 Olympics. Ljubicic, who just recently began seriously competing, has already earned a singles title at the J30 Croatia in addition to finalist finishes at the J30 Luxembourg and J30 Slovenia.
“As a tennis player, Leo possesses a big game with serious potential that we look forward to developing over the next four years,” Brown said. “He will play a major role in the future success of Vanderbilt men’s tennis. We look forward to having him here on West End in August.”
