NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt’s Alan Espinal was drafted by the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday in the 11th round with the 318th overall pick of the 2024 MLB Draft.

Espinal’s development over the past four seasons was highlighted by a career year in 2024 in which he earned ABCA/Rawlings Southeast All-Region Second Team honors. The catcher hit 13 home runs with 49 RBI for the Dores this season and totaled 15 doubles.

Espinal was named SEC Player of the Week on March 18 after a big series vs. No. 18 Auburn including a 4-for-4 game with a double and four runs driven in.

Espinal’s stats improved each season on campus with the senior tallying a career .279 average with 19 homers, 73 RBI and 21 doubles.
