Beatrice Juskeviciute ranks second in the heptathlon after Day One of competition

AUSTIN, Texas Beatrice Juskeviciute and Jada Sims competed in four of seven heptathlon events at the NCAA DI Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday. Juskeviciute entered the competition ranked fourth with a score of 6,079 points. Sims was seeded 24th with a score of 5,638 points.

In the first event of the day, the 100-meter hurdles, Juskeviciute tied her personal-best time of 13.34 seconds, which was the third-best mark of the day. In the same event, Sims recorded a PR of 14.35 seconds.

Both Dores cleared 1.69 meters in the high jump, Juskeviciute’s season best.

In the shot put, Sims threw 11.44 meters, and Juskeviciute recorded a 13.63-meter mark.

To close out the night, Juskeviciute clocked 23.90 seconds, and Sims turned in a personal-best time of 24.71 seconds in the 200 meters.

After one day and four events, Juskeviciute is ranked second with a total of 3,675 points. Sims ranks 21st with 3,309 points.
