NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt track and field is set to compete at the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, hosted by the University of Oregon.

Representing the Commodores are several individual qualifiers and the 4×400-meter relay. The relay team is includes Madison Fuller, Taiya Shelby, Haley Bishop, and Kaira Brown. Grace Jensen, Divine Oladipo, and Shelby will compete individually in their respective events.

Jensen will be the first Commodore to compete at the meet with the semifinals of the 1,500 meters set for 7:46 p.m. CT Thursday. Shelby will take part in the semifinals of the 400-meter dash at 9 p.m. with Oladipo beginning competition in the shot put 40 minutes later before the semifinals of the 4×400-meter relay conclude the day’s events at 10:48 p.m.

On the final day of the meet, Oladipo will be competing in her second event of the championships, the discus, Saturday starting at 4:05 p.m. The remaining races on Saturday will require qualifying times from Thursday’s semifinals.

After a successful East Regional, Vandy notched championship qualifiers in five different events. Oladipo’s marks of 17.64 meters in the shot put and 53.89 meters in the discus, paced the Commodores’ efforts. Jensen’s performance in the 1,500 meters at 4:13.86 punched her ticket early on in the prelims. Shelby left no doubt in the 400-meter dash after finishing fourth overall at the regional with a time of 51.45en route to returning to the national stage.
