NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Divine Oladipo has been named to the All-SEC Outdoor Track and Field second team, as announced by the league on Wednesday.
In a down-to-the-wire competition, Oladipo finished second overall in the shot put at the SEC Outdoor Championships a few weeks ago. Her 17.97 meter effort reset her own school record and is ranked nationally, as well as in the SEC. She competed the following day in discus and secured a spot in the finals after a successful battle in the opening flight. The SEC scorer notched a 52.20 meter mark in her best effort in the event to place sixth overall.
Recently, Oladipo contended in both events for Vanderbilt at the NCAA East Region Prelims in Bloomington, Indiana. She finished fourth overall with a mark of 17.64 meters in the shot put, cementing her spot at the upcoming outdoor championships. Her 53.89 meter effort in discus earned her sixth overall. She is set to represent the Commodores at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in both events in Eugene, Oregon, June 8-11.
Oladipo also earned similar honors during the indoor season after her silver finish in the shot put during the conference championships earlier this year.
