NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt men’s basketball team has accepted an invitation to compete in the Wooden Legacy tournament over Thanksgiving in November at Anaheim Arena in California. The bracket for the tournament will be released this summer.
This year’s field includes Vanderbilt, Washington (PAC 12), Saint Mary’s (WCC) and Fresno State (MWC).
Vanderbilt had success in tournament settings during the 2021-22 season, going 2-0 at the Diamond Head Classic, 2-1 in the SEC Tournament and 2-1 in the NIT. At last season’s Diamond Head Classic in Hawai‘i, Vandy took down host Hawai‘i and BYU to secure the championship trophy.
The Commodores are entering year four under head coach Jerry Stackhouse. Vandy is coming off a 19-win season that included the program’s first postseason action since 2017 and the most wins since the 2016-17 campaign.
