NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A trio of Vanderbilt student-athletes were named to the Perfect Game Preseason All-America Team, the publication announced Wednesday.

Dominic Keegan was named to the Perfect Game’s All-America first team while Enrique Bradfield Jr. received second-team honors. Nick Maldonado rounded out the Commodores on the preseason list as a third-team selection.

The Commodores’ three honorees tied for the most in the Southeastern Conference joining LSU.

Keegan received second team All-America honors from Perfect Game following the 2021 campaign after boasting a team-best .345 average. The Methuen, Massachusetts, native registered 57 RBIs while slugging .638 to rank sixth in the SEC.

Bradfield Jr., the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2021, led the nation with 47 stolen bases last season while batting .336 on the year to rank second on the team. He concluded the season by being named a unanimous Freshman All-American and consensus All-American while becoming the fourth Commodore to be named to the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team.

Maldonado turned in a team-high tying nine saves as a sophomore in 2021 while registering a 2.31 ERA out of the bullpen. His 50.2 innings of work marked the most of the Commodore relievers.

The duo of Keegan (No. 66) and Maldonado (No. 74) were both among D1Baseball’s 2022 Top 100 MLB Draft Prospects joining teammates Carter Young (No. 25) and Spencer Jones (No. 60) who was also named to the list.

The Commodores are set to open the season Feb. 18 when welcoming Oklahoma State to Hawkins Field for a three-game set.
