NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt men’s tennis placed three on the ITA’s annual Scholar-Athlete list, which was announced Monday morning by the organization.
This year, George Harwell, Joubert Klopper and James Ignatowich all earned the recognition. This marks the third year in a row Harwell has earned the honor while Klopper has earned the honor each of the last two seasons.
Overall, 1,054 Division I student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete.
To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
