NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Wednesday night the NFL released its schedule for the upcoming season, the first with 17 regular season games and 18 weeks. Vanderbilt’s 15 Commodores in the pros had their slates unveiled to them.

Many Vandy alums will face each other throughout the season. Week one of the NFL regular season will feature the first two matchups with the Jacksonville Jaguars (Tre Herndon) and Houston Texans (Zach Cunningham) and the New England Patriots (Joejuan Williams) welcoming the Miami Dolphins (Adam Butler). Butler signed with the Dolphins in the offseason after spending the previous four years with the Patriots.

Super Bowl LV champion Ke’Shawn Vaughn and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers open the NFL season and begin their title defense against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, Sept. 9 on NBC.

Each NFL Commodore is scheduled to have at least one matchup against one or more former teammates. Will Holden and Dayo Odeyingbo of the Indianapolis Colts lead the way with a total of 11 games against former Vanderbilt players.
