Commodore Notes
Vanderbilt posted a 2-1 record on the week. The Commodores began the week by traveling to Louisville for the midweek, marking their first midweek matchup on the road this season. Vanderbilt dropped the contest, 7-2, which snapped a 25-game win streak in the midweek for the Commodores, which dated to the 2019 season. Vandy looked to bounce back in the series with Alabama, as the Dores entered the weekend with a three-game losing streak. The Commodores opened the series with a 9-6 victory over the Crimson Tide, as junior Kumar Rocker picked up his nation-leading 11th win of the season to improve to 11-1 on the season. Enrique Bradfield Jr. led the Vandy offensive effort, finishing a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, while notching his first career home run. Carter Young recorded two home runs and three RBI. The Commodores took the series on Saturday behind a 6-2 win over Alabama. Patrick Reilly worked a career-long 7.0 innings, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks, while striking out nine batters. Reilly’s previous career-long was 3.1 frames, which came in a relief effort in the March 9 matchup with Memphis. The Commodores and Crimson Tide played one full inning on Sunday, before storms forced a weather delay. The two teams sat for just under two hours before the series finale was officially canceled.
