NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt student-athlete Kumar Rocker was named SEC Pitcher of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Rocker notched the second complete game of his career in the series opener with fourth-ranked Mississippi State. He held the Bulldogs to just three hits on the evening, while allowing just one earned run.

The Athens, Georgia, native picked up his nation-leading ninth win of the campaign to improve to 9-1 on the season.

After allowing a run in the very first frame, he went on to retire the side in order in five of his next eight innings of work. The junior right-hander struck out eight batters in the contest.

Rocker has allowed just one earned run across his last two starts and 16.0 innings of work, both coming against top-five ranked opponents.

Rocker earns his second weekly conference honor of the season. Six different Vanderbilt student-athlete have earned weekly conference honors, including Jack Bulger, Jayson Gonzalez, Carter Young, Jack Leiter and Dominic Keegan.

Rocker shared the honor with Kevin Kopps of Arkansas.
