Game Notes
  • After four-consecutive road games, the Vanderbilt lacrosse team returns to Nashville to host Old Dominion for two American Athletic Conference games at Vanderbilt Stadium. The Commodores and Monarchs will square off at 1 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. Saturday.
  • Vanderbilt will hold a senior day ceremony prior to Saturday’s game.
  • Vandy received votes in the March 29 Inside Lacrosse and US Lacrosse Top 20 polls.
  • The Commodores are riding a seven-game winning streak, which is the second-longest in program history. The 2010 team won a school record 10-consecutive games.
  • Vanderbilt is 9-2, tying the 2019 team for the best record through 11 games in program history. A win on Thursday would give the Dores their best 12-game start in school history at 10-2.
  • Senior Gabby Fornia is coming off a record-setting performance at ECU. She posted three goals and nine assists for 12 points in Sunday’s game. The nine assists are a Vanderbilt and AAC record, while the 12 points tied the school record and broke the AAC record.
  • For her play at ECU, Fornia earned US Lacrosse Magazine Division I Player of the Week and AAC Attack Player of the Week.
  • Fornia leads the nation with 35 assists this season. She holds Vanderbilt’s single-season assists record of 36 set in 2019.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Paige Gunning leads the nation with 105 saves and is 24th among NCAA Division I goalkeepers with 9.55 saves per game. Gunning has made 10 or more saves in six games in 2021.
  • These will mark the first two meetings between Vanderbilt and Old Dominion.
  • Following the Old Dominion series, the Commodores will have a break before facing Florida on the road on April 16 and 18.
