NASHVILLE, Tenn. — For the first time in two years, it is outdoor track and field season. Vanderbilt will begin the outdoor campaign with the two-day Tiger Classic in Auburn, Alabama, Friday-Saturday.
For the Commodores, the first outdoor event since 2019 will be the long jump at 4 p.m. Friday. The first day of competition will also include the 1,500 meters, steeplechase and 5,000 meters (8:05 p.m.). Saturday will start with the pole vault at 11 a.m. and conclude with the 4×400 relay at 4:25 p.m.
During a shortened indoor season, Vanderbilt posted 23 top-10 performances for a total of 17 new entries into the school record book which included 14 different student-athletes in nine different individual events and two relays.
Vanderbilt will continue its outdoor season at the Raleigh Relays and Bulldog Relays next weekend, followed by the Tennessee Relays and Miami Invite before the annual Black and Gold Invitational home meet.
