NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt fifth-year linebacker Caleb Peart has been named to the CoSIDA Football Academic All-District team, the organization announced Thursday.
Peart is now under consideration for CoSIDA Academic All-America recognition. The organization will announce first, second and third team recipients in December.
A product of Chandler, Arizona, Peart has earned seven starts in 44 career appearances for the Vanderbilt defense. He has played in all nine games this season, earning starts at inside linebacker against Purdue and Northern Illinois.
Off the field, Peart completed undergraduate degrees in medicine, health and society, and African American and diaspora studies last May. He is currently working toward a graduate degree in medicine, health and society.
Peart finished his undergraduate studies with a 3.54 grade-point average. He owns a 4.0 postgraduate GPA.
Peart is a four-time dean’s list and four-time Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll recipient. He is a third-team Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award honoree.
Peart and the Commodores return to action this Saturday, hosting Kentucky on campus. Kickoff is 2:30 p.m. in Vanderbilt Stadium.
