OMAHA, Neb. – Vanderbilt senior Stephen Scott crushed two home runs and right-handed freshman Kumar Rocker was elusive as the Commodores moved to within one win of advancing to the College World Series finals with a 6-3 win against Mississippi State on Wednesday at TD Ameritrade Park.
The Commodores (56-11) struck for five runs in the fifth highlighted by a two-out, three-run homer from Scott. Vanderbilt batted around in the frame and received an RBI-double from JJ Bleday, who notched his 26th multi-hit performance and sixth three-hit game of the season.
