NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt women’s tennis will compete in its fifth straight NCAA quarterfinals on Friday at 4 p.m. CT while facing top-seeded Georgia at the USTA Tennis Complex in Orlando, Florida.
The Elite Eight matchup will be televised live on the Tennis Channel. This season marks the first year that the Tennis Channel will be covering the NCAA Championships. The channel will feature more the 50 hours of live matches throughout both the men and women’s NCAA quarterfinals.
“We’re very excited to be playing top-seed Georgia. They have had an incredible year. We’re thrilled to be in the Elite Eight taking on a team we have the utmost respect for. We are looking forward to a real battle on Friday,” said head coach Geoff Macdonald.
Friday’s matchup between the top-ranked Bulldogs and No. 8 Commodores will mark the third meeting between the two teams this season.
In the last meeting, Georgia defeated Vanderbilt, 4-1, at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex to close out the Commodores’ regular season.
