NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt men’s golf team was named the number one seed at the NCAA Athens Regional on Wednesday, marking the third consecutive season and the fourth time in the last five seasons the Commodores have been a top seed at a NCAA Regional. The NCAA Athens Regional takes place May 13-15 with 12 other teams.
The No. 1 seed Commodores will compete with Duke, host Georgia, Liberty, Alabama, Tennessee, Campbell, Kentucky, Nevada, SMU, Memphis, UNC Wilmington, and Princeton.
Thirteen teams were selected to three regional sites and 14 were selected in three others, with the top five teams from each regional advancing to the NCAA Championships. Additionally, the top individual not affiliated with a qualifying team in the six regionals will also advance to the finals at the Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas, from May 24-29.
