Vanderbilt, SEC announce 2019 football schedule

NASHVILLE – Vanderbilt is set to host seven games including the season opener against Southeastern Conference-foe Georgia in 2019, the league office and athletic department announced Tuesday.

The Commodores will take on the Bulldogs on Saturday, Aug. 31 from Vanderbilt Stadium. It will mark the second time in four seasons Vandy has faced a conference opponent in the opener with the last time coming in 2016 against South Carolina.

Vanderbilt pays a visit to Purdue the following week in what will be the third all-time meeting against Purdue and first since Oct. 3, 1942. In the remainder of non-conference action, the Dores will host Northern Illinois (Sept. 28), UNLV (Oct. 12), and East Tennessee State (Nov. 23).

Vanderbilt will host LSU for the first time since 2010, doing so on Sept. 21. The matchup comes after the first of two open dates for the Commodores (Sept. 14 and Oct. 26).

The Commodores host Missouri (Oct. 19) and Kentucky (Nov. 16) in addition to visiting Ole Miss (Oct. 5), South Carolina (Nov. 2), Florida (Nov. 9) and Tennessee (Nov. 30).
