With the Commodores just days away from kicking off preseason camp, individual tickets for the season opener against Middle Tennessee and additional Vanderbilt home games against Nevada, South Carolina and Tennessee State will go on sale to the public Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 8:30 a.m. CT.
Tickets for the three home nonconference games – Middle Tennessee on Sept. 1, Nevada on Sept. 8 and Tennessee State on Sept. 29 – are $25 (excluding processing fees). Tickets to the South Carolina matchup on Sept. 22 are $55 (excluding fees).
Beginning Wednesday morning, fans can purchase individual tickets to the MTSU, Nevada, South Carolina and Tennessee State games online at vucommodores.com, by phone at 615-322-GOLD (4653) or in person at the Vanderbilt Box Office in McGugin Athletics Center, located at 2601 Jess Neely Drive in Nashville.
Tickets to three additional Vanderbilt home games – Florida on Oct. 13, Ole Miss on Nov. 17 and Tennessee on Nov. 24 — will go on sale at a later date.
Coach Derek Mason‘s Commodores are scheduled to begin preseason camp this Friday on campus, working toward the opener against Middle Tennessee, which will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT.
The Commodores feature 45 letterwinners, including 16 multi-game starters, returning from a 5-7 squad that capped the 2017 season on a high note, defeating Tennessee in Knoxville. Among the returning starters are three-year starting quarterback Kyle Shurmur, senior offensive linemen Justin Skule and Bruno Reagan, junior receiving targets Kalija Lipscomb and Jared Pinkney, defensive lineman Dare Odeyingbo, outside linebacker Charles Wright, safety LaDarius Wiley and cornerback Joejuan Williams.
The Commodores host Middle Tennessee on Saturday, Sept. 1 in Vanderbilt Stadium, then stay on campus Sept. 8 for their first-ever meeting with Nevada. The South Carolina game on Sept. 22 comes off the Commodores face Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., on Sept. 15. The TSU game on Sept. 29 is Vanderbilt’s last nonconference stint.

In the opener, the Commodores will face one of the top teams in Conference USA when Middle Tennessee makes its first return to Vanderbilt Stadium since 2016. The Blue Raiders feature one of the nation’s top passing attacks directed by veteran quarterback Brent Stockstill. This marks the fourth straight year the two teams have played.
In Nevada, the Commodores will face their first opponent from the Mountain West Conference since playing Air Force Academy in the 1982 Hall of Fame Bowl in Birmingham, Ala.
The Commodores own a 2-0 series advantage against neighboring Tennessee State, members of the Ohio Valley Conference.
Vanderbilt will be looking to earn its first victory against South Carolina since 2008 season in the Commodores’ first game against SEC competition.
In addition to individual tickets, college football fans may also purchase Vanderbilt season tickets, which remain one of the best values among the least inexpensive in the SEC. Season ticket packages starts at $178 for reserved south end-zone locations.
Vanderbilt Athletics is also featuring a special three-game “Taste of Tennessee” mini-plan to college football fans, offering tickets to the Middle Tennessee, Tennessee State and Tennessee games for $120 (including fees). The first 500 fans to purchase the mini-plan also receive a $15 gift card good at Puckett’s or any A. Marshall Hospitality location in Middle Tennessee (Deacon’s New South, Puckett’s Boat House, Scout’s Pub and Homestead Manor).
