Former Commodore great Brandt Snedeker led wire to wire at the PGA Tour’s Wyndham Championship and captured the tournament in Greensboro, N.C. by three shots with a 21-under par, 259 in route to his ninth career victory on the PGA Tour.
Three days after firing an opening-round 59, Snedeker played 29 holes on Sunday due to bad weather Saturday and defeated Webb Simpson and C.T. Pan by three shots. The Nashville native, who missed over five months of action in 2017 due to injury, has played well as of late and looks to be back to the Snedeker of old.
“To be injured, to be away from the game for five and a half months, to not know what the recovery was going to look like, to not know if you’re going to be 100 percent again and still dealing with it to this day,” Snedeker told PGATour.com. “Still not 100 percent, but I’m way better than I was.
“I guess it’s the facts of life as you get older out here, you’re going to have to deal with certain nagging injuries all the time.”
Next up for Snedeker is the FedEx Cup playoffs, where the former Commodore has had success in the past. The 2012 FedEx Cup champion will tee it up at the Northern Trust August 23-26 in the first FedEx Cup event in New Jersey. Fellow Commodore Luke List will also participate in the event.
