NASHVILLE – The Vanderbilt women’s basketball team welcomes in Austin Peay State University Monday night for a 7 p.m. contest. Fans can watch live on SEC Network Plus, follow live stats or listen to Charlie Mattos on WNSR 560 AM or 95.9 FM.
STARTING FIVE
- Vanderbilt dropped its first road game of the season at Middle Tennessee on Friday night. The Blue Raiders netted 17 unanswered in the opening stanza to put the Commodores in an early 20-4 hole.
- Middle Tennessee shot 50 percent from three on the night while holding Vanderbilt to just 31.3 percent. The squad out-shot the Commodores in the field, 42.9 percent to 34.5 percent.
- Vanderbilt edged the Blue Raiders on the offensive boards, 9-to-7, but lost the overall rebound battle 35-to-30.
- The Commodores forced MTSU into 23 turnovers.
- VU placed three in double-digits during the contest: Kaleigh Clemons-Green (10), Mariella Fasoula (10) and Chelsie Hall (23).
DANGEROUS IN DOUBLE-DIGITS
Chelsie Hall neared her career-high (26) against MTSU by netting 23. The outing marked the 21st in her young career that she has been in double-digits, but just her fourth eclipsing the 20 point mark.
SCOUTING REPORT
- The Governors took down Christian Brothers Friday night at the Dunn Center, 100-62.
- APSU had six in double-digits: Arielle Gonzalez-Varner (17), Myah Leflore (13), Gabby Gregory (13), Brianah Ferby (12), Brandi Ferby (12) and Kelen Kenol (10).
- Austin Peay shot 52 percent from the field in the win.
