WBB to attend SEC Media Days

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Women’s basketball season tips off Thursday when the Southeastern Conference hosts its annual Media Days at the Grand Bohemian Resort in Birmingham, Alabama.  Chelsie Hall and Cierra Walker will  join third-year head coach Stephanie White as representatives of the 2018-19 team. 

Hall was named one of the top freshmen in the conference a season ago, garnering SEC All-Freshman honors after averaging 11.9 points per game and 3.5 rebound per game in 31 starts. Walker is entering her junior season as one of Vanderbilt’s top scoring threats as well. The Oregon City, Oregon, native averaged 8.7 points per game in 17 starts during the 2017-18 season while also averaging 9.9 points per game against SEC opponents. This year’s squad is comprised of 10 student-athletes including five underclassmen.

Highlighting this year’s additions are freshmen Brinae Alexander and Jordyn Cambridge. Alexander comes to Vanderbilt as the No. 51 recruit in her class and 14th best forward in the nation according to ESPNHoopzGurlz. Nashville native Cambridge was named the 23rd prospect in the nation and No. 4 guard in her class coming out of The Ensworth School.
