Last time out: The Commodores earned the No. 2 seed at Prairie View but slipped to fourth with a pair of hard-fought losses in Sunday’s bracket play.

Travel squad capsules

Kelsey Abrahamsen – has performed admirably when she’s gotten into the rotation. Two weeks ago she entered during Sunday’s bracket play and was a productive, steadying influence when the heat was on.

Maria Bulanova – was third at Prairie View in her last outing, averaging 226.33 in the six team games. Has made three all-tournament teams this season.

Samantha Gainor – was 18th in a strong field two weeks ago, her first competition of the spring. Regarded as one of the NCAA’s top freshmen.

Bryanna Leyen – continues to add a positive spark when inserted into the lineup. Notched a 195 in her one team game at Prairie View and bowled well in Sunday’s Baker play.

Jordan Newham – continued her excellent season by making her first all-tournament team of her junior year in Arlington two weeks ago, placing fifth individually. (For fans thinking she was sixth, there was a clerical error on the original statistics sheet.)

Ariana Perez – the senior from Wichita is making her first road trip of her college career.

Kristin Quah – one of the top spare shooters in the NCAA. Was 14th individually at Prairie View which is a bit lower than her typical individual placing. Her closing 279 reminded everyone of her explosive potential. Made two all-tournament teams during the fall.

Adel Wahner – a typically steady influence in the lineup; bowled in five of the six team games at Prairie View. Her best tournament was the Mid-Winter where she made the all-tournament team.
