Qualifying doubles draw | Qualifying singles draw

PACIFIC PLAISAIDES, Calif. – The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team sends student-athletes to Pacific Palisades, Calif. this week to compete in the first national championship of the 2017-18 season, the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships.

The Commodores have enjoyed recent success at Riviera ITA’s, as Astra Sharma represented the black and gold in last year’s main draw semifinals.

For the 33rd consecutive year, the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, California, invites the nation’s top Division I women’s players to compete in the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships. Pre-qualifying matches will be contested at Pepperdine University, with Riviera Tennis Club holding qualifying and main draw matches. Qualifying singles and doubles are set for October 3-4, with the main draw running from October 5-8.

Qualifying play will begin tomorrow afternoon as No. 63 Fernanda Contreras takes the court against Rice’s No.45 Lindsay Hodge at 2:30 p.m. CT. Sophomores Christina Rosca and Emma Kurtz are slated to face third-seeded No.22 Kononova / Kutubidze out of North Texas at 11:00 am CT in the first round of doubles qualifiers. Kurtz/Rosca are 3-3 overall on the fall with two top-50 ranked wins.

No. 47 Rosca and 2017 doubles All-American, Emily Smith, are expected to contend in main draw play.
