ESPN: Vanderbilt football coach Derek Mason reflects on his staff’s summer trip to Boston, where they visited the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. “There was so much information about culture, details, about the game itself and how they play it — winning situational football — it sort of just overwhelms you,” Mason said.

NCAA: Former Vanderbilt baseball player Jason Delay has earned an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. Delay is one of just eight baseball players in the nation across Divisions I, II and III to earn the award. The Johns Creek, Ga. native was picked in the fourth round of the MLB Draft in June by Pittsburgh to become the highest drafted Commodore catcher since Scotti Madison in 1980.
