NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Cortez Hankton has plenty to look forward to during the 2017 Vanderbilt football season. The third-year Commodores’ wide receivers coach returns the program’s top nine pass-catchers from last season, including senior wideouts C.J. Duncan, Caleb Scott and Trent Sherfield. Plus, the Dores also bring back starting quarterback Kyle Shurmur and Vanderbilt’s all-time leading rusher, Ralph Webb, on offense.
The Commodore Insider Podcast caught up with Hankton for an update on Vanderbilt’s summer workouts. The coach assesses his position group’s experience going forward, how senior leadership will play a key role and what his student-athletes must do before fall camp opens. Plus, Hankton recalls how he arrived at Vanderbilt and what he learned from being an NFL wide receiver.
