NASHVILLE, Tenn. — For the first time in their respective careers, Sarah Bell and Courtney Clayton will head to the NCAA Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore. on June 7-10.
The pair of seniors qualified for the outdoor national championships last week at the NCAA East Regionals in Lexington, Ky. Bell, the Vanderbilt record-holder in indoor and outdoor pole vault, was one of eight athletes to clear the bar at 4.20 meters. Clayton, the Commodores’ record-holder in the indoor and outdoor 800-meter event, qualified with a time of 2:04.15, just shy of her program record of 2:04.12.
Bell and Clayton joined the Commodore Insider Podcast to preview their trip to NCAAs and discuss the excitement of finally qualifying for the national championships.
