BACK TO THE BLUEGRASS
Vanderbilt returns to the road for league play this weekend with a trip to Kentucky. The Commodores’ last trip to Lexington in 2015 saw the Dores take two-of-three from the Wildcats, clinching the series on Sunday by rallying for four runs over the final two frames. Last season at Hawkins Field, Vandy won its seventh straight series against the Cats with a pair of victories. VU clinched an SEC title in Lexington in 2013 with a three-game sweep en route to a league record 26-3 mark. The Commodores are 120-123-3 all-time against Kentucky dating back to 1924.

SEC TABS KENDALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jeren Kendall earned his second weekly honor of the season, picking up SEC Player of the Week after going 9-for-20 with seven runs, six RBIs and two home runs during the Commodores’ 3-1 week. Kendall’s first career grand slam on Friday night was the difference in the series opening 4-3 win over Texas A&M. He backed it up on Saturday with a two-run homer as part of a three-hit game with three runs scored in the Dores’ blowout 17-3 win to clinch the team’s first-ever series against the Aggies. His two singles Sunday pushed the streak to six multi-hit games in a row and his season total to 11.

KENDALL STILL HOT
Jeren Kendall rides a seven-game hitting streak into the weekend at Kentucky. The junior is 15-for-33 (.455) with 14 runs scored, two doubles, a triple and four home runs to go along with 10 RBIs during the streak. He has also reached base in 17 straight games with hits in 15 of those 17 games. The offensive surge has pushed his batting average nearly 50 points higher. During the 17-game stretch, Kendall has recorded seven of 11 multi-hit games this season.

OFFENSE TRENDING UP
The Vanderbilt offense is trending in the right direction over the team’s last six games. The Commodores have scored 60 runs and are hitting .307 as a team. The offense has 67 hits with 26 going for extra bases, including nine home runs, for a .523 slugging percentage as a team. Reed Hayes has been the biggest run producer, driving in 12 runs, while Jeren Kendall has scored 13 runs over the last six games.
