NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 10 Vanderbilt women’s tennis team looks to extend its Southeastern Conference success to five-straight matches on Saturday, as the team faces the 14th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats at 3 pm.

The ‘Dores own a 9-4 overall record, taking six of their last seven matches. VU’s four league victories have come over No. 12 Tennessee, No. 18 Georgia, No. 33 Mississippi State and No. 23 Ole Miss. Fernanda Contreras and Emma Kurtz remain undefeated in SEC singles play, picking up victories on courts five and six.

In the latest Oracle/ITA singles rankings, No. 5 Astra Sharma leads VU with Sydney Campbell following shortly after at No. 8 and freshman Christina Rosca rounding out the ranked singles trio at No. 65. In tandems, Sharma and Emily Smith sit at No. 20.

Watching the Wildcats:
UK is 10-2 overall and 3-1 in SEC play. The team’s two losses have come against UCLA in the ITA Kickoff Weekend, 4-0, and on the road against Georgia in a 4-1 contest.

The Wildcats boast one ranked singles player and two ranked doubles teams. Aldila Sutjiadi is ranked 16th individually and fifth in doubles alongside long-time partner Mami Adachi. Last season, the duo went 11-0 in SEC play and now own a 7-2 dual match record this year. Sutjaidi and Akvil Paražinskait are ranked 47th.

Last season the 8th-ranked Commodores opened SEC play defeating No. 17 Kentucky 5-2. The ‘Dores have taken the last 13 competition against the Wildcats.
