NCAA Tournament Central

First-year head coach Bryce Drew and the Commodores are NCAA Tournament bound.

After an impressive late-season surge, Vanderbilt received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday. The Commodores (19-15) will be a No. 9 seed and will play No. 8 seed Northwestern (23-11) on Thursday in Salt Lake City, Utah, in the West Region.

Time and television for the game will be announced at a later date.

Vanderbilt will be making its second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and its 15th in program history. The Commodores have a 10-15 all-time record in the tournament, with previous appearances in 1965, 1974, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1997, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2016.

Vanderbilt will enter the postseason having won seven of its past nine games and 10 of its past 14. The Commodores advanced to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament this past week by posting wins over Texas A&M and Florida before falling to Arkansas on Saturday.
