VANDERBILT RE-VU
The Commodores jumped on Central Arkansas for five runs in the first inning and cruised to a 9-1 win. Chandler Day fanned a career-best eight over five innings to earn his first in win of the year. Vanderbilt used a pair of big innings to beat UCA 10-5 on Tuesday. Jason Delay hit his first homer of the year and Reed Hayes added three hits off the bench. The Commodores salvaged the Sunday game with an 11-3 win over CSUN. Ethan Paul hit a pair of home runs as the Dores went 7-for-10 with runners in scoring position. Vanderbilt dropped the team’s second straight series with a 4-1 loss to CSUN on Saturday. Jeren Kendall hit his fourth home run and Patrick Raby was pegged with his first loss of the year. The Commodores let an early lead slip away in a 6-4 loss to CSUN on Friday. Kyle Wright took his second loss of the year and Will Toffey hit his first homer of the season.

SATURDAY GAME TIME CHANGE
Saturday’s game against Saint Mary’s has been moved up to 11 a.m. due to the weather forecast. The game was originally scheduled for 2 p.m. but the weather forecast calls for snow Saturday afternoon and temperatures in the 30s and low 40s.
KENDALL’S BIG WEEK
Jeren Kendall’s big week earned him National Player of the Week honors from Collegiate Baseball. The junior went 6-for-18 (.333) with three home runs and eight RBIs during the Commodores’ five-game week against Southeastern Louisiana and CSUN last week. Kendall belted a pair of home runs in the Dores’ win over Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday as part of a three-hit game with four RBIs. He followed up with a solo homer on Saturday against CSUN and three RBIs on Sunday. The honor is the first weekly honor for a Commodore this season.
WARMING UP
Ethan Paul’s bat is warming up over the last four games. The sophomore is 6-for-19 (.316) with two home runs, a double, a triple, seven RBIs and six runs scored. He recorded his first career two home run game on Sunday vs. CSUN with a pair of solo shots while scoring three runs and driving in three more runs in the win. In his previous eight games he was 5-for-31 (.161) with four RBIs and four runs scored.
THE AWAKENING
Vanderbilt’s offense has woken up over the team’s last three games, scoring 30 runs on 30 hits in the three wins. The Dores have nine extra-base hits and 25 walks during the team’s three-game winning streak while hitting .316 (30-for-95) as a team. The offense has also locked in with runners in scoring position during the stretch, going 16-for-39 (.410). In the team’s previous five games, VU was 6-for-41 (.146) with runners in scoring position.
