NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team swept Southeastern Conference weekly awards as announced by the league Wednesday afternoon.

Senior Sydney Campbell is the SEC’s Player of the Week while Emma Kurtz earned Freshman of the Week. The last time the Commodores swept weekly accolades was April 8, 2015. Campbell earned her first league accolade that day with Astra Sharma taking home freshman honors.

A native of Franklin, Tenn., Campbell earns her second weekly nod following an undefeated weekend in singles and doubles play. The senior knocked off Tennessee’s Sadie Hammond, 6-4, 6-2 and upset Georgia’s No. 15 Elena Christofi, 6-3, 6-4 for the 2-1 team lead. The two-time All-American’s victory over Christofi was her sixth ranked victory on the year and second of the dual season.
