The Commodores end a two week layoff and head to Atlantic City, NJ, for the weekend’s Monmouth’s Hawk Flight Invite at the King Pin Bowl Entertainment Center in Egg Harbor Township.
Tourney format: Five, 5-Game Baker matches Friday starting at 11:00 a.m. ET; Saturday’s five traditional games are at 10:00 ET. Sunday begins at 9 o’clock with three rounds of Baker bracket play to determine final standings.
Competing teams: Caldwell, Chestnut Hill, Delaware State, Duquesene, Fairleigh Dickinson, Felician, Franklin Pierce, Kutztown, Long Island-Brooklyn, Long Island-Post, Monmouth, Saint Francis-NY, Saint Peter’s, Youngstown State and Vanderbilt.
Same seven traveling: Once again Vanderbilt is traveling with Giselle Poss, Katie Stark, Kristen Quah, Jordan Newham, Maria Bulanova, Emily Rigney and Adel Wahner.
About the tournament: Monmouth’s head coach and tournament director is Karen Grygiel, a Vanderbilt graduate and member of the 2007 NCAA championship team. The Commodores won this tournament last season, held in a different facility. Kristin Quah was the tourney MVP with a 236 average and Jordan Newham was all-tournament at 226.
