NEW YORK, N.Y. – Vanderbilt attacker Kayla Peterson was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for her performances against Louisville and Furman, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Peterson started the week against the Cardinals and fueled the Commodores comeback from five goals down to tie the game late in the second half. She scored three of her four career-high goals during the Vanderbilt second half run. Peterson also added a draw control win on the afternoon.

On Sunday against the Paladins, Peterson led the Commodore attack that scored the most goals in over two years. Peterson broke her career-high in goals that she set earlier in the week with six Sunday afternoon. She also added an assist, four draw controls and caused a turnover against the Paladins. Peterson led the Commodores in goals and points in both games last week.

Peterson leads the ‘Dores in goals (13) and points (15) three games into the season. She is also second on the team in ground balls with eight. Peterson is one goal shy from her career-high which she set during her freshman season.

The ‘Dores are currently in a nine-day stretch in-between games. They will be back in action next Wednesday, March 8, when they hit the road to take on Elon. That game will begin at 5 pm CT.
