BIG EAST Release
NEW YORK, N.Y. – Vanderbilt midfielder Julie Blaze was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for her performance in the season-opener against Kennesaw State, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Blaze started her sophomore campaign with a career game against Kennesaw State in the 17-5 victory. She tallied a team and career-high five goals and six points against the Owls. Eight of her nine shots were on goal and the Towson, Md. native added three draw controls and a ground ball.
Last season, Blaze started seven games while appearing in all 16 in her first season on campus. She led the Commodore freshmen in points (14) and goals (12) and was second in ground balls with 20.
The ‘Dores are currently in a 10-day stretch in-between games. They will be back in action next Wednesday, Feb. 22, when they travel up north to take on Louisville. That game will begin at 2 pm CT and will be aired on ACC Network Extra.
